Welcome Susan Tarry, MD, FACS, Reconstructive Surgeon

Urologic Consultants of Southeastern Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Susan Tarry to its medical team.  Dr. Tarry, a board-certified urologist, is fellowship-trained in genitourinary reconstructive surgery. She treats the entire range of urologic diseases and conditions including prostate and bladder cancer, pelvic floor prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infection, sexual issues, incontinence and kidney stones. Dr. Tarry specializes in reconstructive, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

“I loved teaching and practicing urology in Texas. But it’s equally good to be back on the east coast, taking on new challenges as well as being close to family and old friends.” said Dr. Tarry, a Maryland native.

Dr. Tarry has a strong commitment to patient care. “Nothing makes me happier than to see a patient doing well after surgery,” said Tarry. Dr. Tarry will have opportunities to apply her extensive experience in medical research and training.  She has been named Director of Reconstructive Urology Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine.

“We’re very pleased to have recruited Dr. Tarry,” said Dr. Laurence Belkoff, Urologic Consultants Managing Partner. “We have been looking specifically for a fellowship-trained genitourinary reconstructive surgeon with Dr. Tarry's experience.  Her skill set, which includes advanced procedures, some of which are not performed by many other urologists, extends what we can do for patients with urologic cancers as well as erectile dysfunction, incontinence and other urologic conditions.”

Prior to joining Urologic Consultants, Dr. Tarry practiced and taught in Texas where she was voted Outstanding Teacher of 2016 in the Division of Urology at the University of Texas.

Dr. Tarry received her BS (Summa Cum Laude) in biology from West Virginia University. She earned her medical degree at West Virginia University. She continued her training in general surgery at West Virginia University Hospital where she was also Chief Resident in Urology. Dr. Tarry earned a fellowship at the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS) at The Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.

Dr. Tarry is affiliated with Hahnemann University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Tarry will see patients at two office locations: 231 North Broad Street, Philadelphia and One Presidential Boulevard, Bala Cynwyd.  The phone numbers are 215.762.3200 and 610.667.3020 respectively.
